Mental Health First Aid news:

The currently scheduled MHFA Courses for Adults are:

  • First Baptist Church Plainview beginning March 10 and continuing through April 21 from 4 – 6 pm
  • Texas Panhandle Community Center, in Amarillo, May 3 and 10th from 9 am – 4 pm each day

 Up coming events:

  • HR Consortium for Community Mental Health Centers, in Houston, May 15 – 16.
  • PISD is planning to have the MHFA for Youth presented to faculty this summer as part of their staff development
  • Region 17 plans to contract with Central Plains Center to offer the Youth Course for interested schools

 

 Other MH First Aid News:

March 4 – 6 Kay and Ron were certified in Houston as MHFA Instructors for the Youth curriculum.  The MHFAY is for adults working with youth ages 12 – 18.  The Youth Course is 8 hours in length instead of 12 hours for the Adults.  However, the National Council should be coming out with an 8 hour course for adults in May
